The golden throne, used for meetings of state is fuel for the imagination. Made of wood and overlaid with sheet gold, its lion-paw legs are mounted on beaded drums shod with either copper or bronze. Oddly, its principle decoration was an intimate episode, not entirely appropriate for its stately purpose.
