The Pictures below depict life on the plains from Paleo-Indian to Historic times

This park was established in order to provide Lubbock a great, unique educational attraction dedicated to the preservation, research, and interpretation of an archaeological, botanical, and zoological, cultural and natural site.

The site serves as the stage for the Museum of TTU archaeology related activities such as excavation, research, educational activities, programs, seminars, lectures, interpretive guided tours and special presentations for school and other groups and visitors.

Facilities and daily activities - Parks Department Headquarters/Robert Nash Interpretive Center is a museum-like structure with exhibit gallery, auditorium, and Museum of TTU administrative offices and Learning Center. The park has two trails. A handicapped accessible one-mile trail, and a four-mile nature trail. The four-mile trail meanders along the slopes and bed of a dry, ancient river now covered with native vegetation. Wild flowers adorn a beautiful recycled habitat for native mammals; coyotes, foxes, butterflies and other insects. The trail provides users solitude; a rare find in an urban environment, with the pleasure of discovering nature, and with a challenge for those who need or like to walk for their well-being. The tours are self guided through the exhibit gallery and trails. Guided tours to archaeological sites are available by the museum staff.
